No, not our Crackpipe Williams. The other one --Ricky "Smoke if you got 'em" Williams of the Miami Dolphins.

"I'm disappointed with the decision but I respect it," Crackpipe said in a prepared statement. "I'm proud of my association with the National Football League and look forward to returning to the Dolphins in 2007."


Dolphins Head Coach Nick Satan had this to say, "This is a league decision, and we are disappointed in what it means for Ricky and the team. I know I speak for all of his teammates and the entire Dolphin organization in supporting him in any way we can in his future endeavors."

Former CFL and Argonaut star had some interesting words about Smokin' Rick and the CFL....

There should be some sort of 'discouragement' to being able to swap leages to play pro ball when you have been suspended for unethical or unsportsmanlike conduct. At least extend a suspension to begin the season following when the player stops playing.

The league should suspend a player from the "profession". Violation should be punishable by permanent ban from the NFL & Pro Football HOF....or maybe 'triple the suspension'.

The CFL should not accept a suspended player, but I can't blame them for taking in a 'big name' that is doing time.

That was a different president...that didn't exhale.

This one could use a little 'mellow'....either way, after two terms he is no longer eligible for public housing & will have to find another gig. That will probably scrap any plans to invade Canada that may be in the works.

Well, this thread has gotten a bit off topic. So allow me to continue the trend.

We may not be invading Canada anytime soon, but the Caronlina Hurricanes are beating the hell out of the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup. This once again proves that our Canadians are better than their Canadians.

Edmonton had a nice playoff run, but...you're not going to do it in the finals w/o a goalie. Sorry.

That horrible excuse for a World Cup match on Monday was a disgrace. If only it had been in Hamburg the headlines could have been "Humiliation in Hamburg."

Although the "Red, White and Ewww" here locally wasn't bad.

Don't forget Moose Head, Molson, Lumber and acid rain. Still - hardly worth the gas money it would take to invade them & haul it all back to the US.
